My passion for exercise and health began at an early age. After completing my degrees in Human Movement Sciences (VU Amsterdam) and Physiotherapy (Fontys Eindhoven), I focused my master\u2019s studies on research into anterior cruciate ligament injuries and surgical techniques. <\/p>

After completing my studies, I embarked on a career in the orthopaedic industry, where I spent more than 25 years working on the product development, manufacturing and commercialisation of hip and knee prostheses and advanced biomaterials, amongst other things. I now focus entirely on preventive, non-surgical orthopaedics. Together with Evert-Jan and Ton, I am researching alternatives that help patients remain pain-free and active for longer, without unnecessary surgery. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

I am driven by innovation and solutions that directly improve quality of life. That is what we strive for at Supportho Medical. Through prevention and innovative technology, we can make a difference to many people\u2019s lives. <\/p>

A good life is often about freedom, energy and enjoying life without restrictions. Medical procedures \u2013 such as operations, hospital admissions or long-term treatments \u2013 can seriously disrupt this. <\/p>

By adopting preventive measures and innovative technology, you increase your chances of staying healthy for longer and avoiding the need for medical procedures, or at least delaying them until much later. This means: <\/p>

  • More energy and freedom to do what you enjoy,<\/li>
  • Less pain and discomfort,<\/li>
  • Less stress about health and care,<\/li>
  • Often a longer and happier life, too.<\/li><\/ul>

    Through Supportho Medical, I aim to work even more closely with doctors and patients and help them tackle their day-to-day challenges. \u201cYour problem is (also) our challenge.\u201d With our focus on innovation, I\u2019m always looking for ways to improve, because \u201cthings can and will always get better\u201d.<\/p>

    A good example is Arthrosamid, an acrylamide hydrogel used to treat osteoarthritis. This treatment can lead to functional improvement in osteoarthritis, reduced pain and reduced swelling, often after just one injection. As we are now seeing, the improvement lasts for three to as long as five years. It\u2019s almost too good to be true, but what really makes me happy \u2013 and is why I do it \u2013 are the heart-warming stories from people with osteoarthritis who have undergone treatment and go on to share how an innovation contributes to a lasting improvement in their quality of life. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
